It is likely you find yourself here, curious about what Pilates can offer you, perhaps you want to be more flexible and be able to touch your toes. Or do you wish you could feel more energised and productive, or simply learn how to completely let go of your day.
The benefits really are endless, Pilates not only helps to develop a better physique and posture by strengthening the core and targeting and toning specific muscle groups. It also helps you to focus on releasing stress and tension in the body, improves balance and flexibility, helps to relieve pain and reduce injury, increases concentration through body awareness and ultimately improves your overall wellbeing.
In 2012 I moved to New Zealand and discovered my love for Pilates whilst working full time in the corporate world. I completed my Pilates teacher training within the year and now in my eighth year I am always developing and learning more skills to better improve my knowledge and teaching.
Currently, I am on maternity leave, embracing a balance between mum life and well-being. It is my passion to teach and help others achieve this balance and feel the effects in their own lives which is why I created Ellie Pilates, a friendly and fun community Pilates class which is suitable for all levels.
A lot of people ask me why I’m driven to do what I do. Health and wellness is on the top of my list and without a doubt Pilates is something I need as part of my workout program in order to enjoy a better quality of life.
Ellie is a certified Pilates teacher and teaches both mat and Reformer (Pilates equipment) classes on the North Shore and in the city. Ellie holds St Johns Level 2 First Aid Training, Advanced Reformer certificate, BOSU and Foam Roller and Pre and Post Natal Pregnancy Pilates.
In her spare time Ellie loves to travel and write articles for New Zealand Travel Magazine, go diving (PADI Resuce diver), spend time at home with her husband and cats, train for running events with friends and push the boundaries kite surfing!
